Know India Program (KIP)

The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India is organizing the next edition of Know India Programme (KIP) to familiarize Indian Diaspora youth with Indias culture, heritage and also with contemporary India. KIP will be for a duration of Duration of 25 days, of which participants will spend nearly 10 days in a select State. Focus of next KIP will be Maharashtra State, and is scheduled from 05 May to 01 June, 2016. Tentative programme is enclosed at Annexure-I.2. The highlight of this years KIP is a tour of Maharashtra, on board the luxury train “Deccan Odyssey”, thanks to the support of the State Government of Maharashtra.

3. Guidelines for KIP, application form and itinerary for the KIP are attached.

4. This programme is open only for Indian origin Diaspora youth in age group of 18-26 years. NRIs are not eligible. Preference would be given to PIOs who have not visited India so far. Selected participants would be reimbursed 90% (ninety percent) of the total cost of air ticket (at lowest economy excursion fare) on successful completion of the programme by them.

5. Completed application forms should be submitted by PIOs to Consulate General of India, Sydney by 10 April 2016.
